Join us for a session with Dr. Philipp Schnell, Executive Director of the Austrian Institute for Vocational Education and Training Research (ÖIBF), to explore the Austrian Vocational Education and Training (VET) System.
Dr. Schnell is a sociologist specialising in empirical educational research and education policy, with research expertise in vocational education and training, school segregation, educational economics, and the evaluation of educational initiatives. Since March 2024, he has served as Executive Director of the ÖIBF. His work focuses on translating educational research into evidence that can contribute to policy development and informed educational decision-making.
During the session, Dr. Schnell will share insights into the structure, characteristics and key features of the Austrian VET system, providing an opportunity to better understand Austria’s approach to vocational education and its relevance for education policy and practice.
